Neverness is a small, self-hosted AI chat application operated by Philipglo Joshua Opulencia, an individual (not a company), in the Philippines, under the khazu.net domain. Anyone with a Google account can sign in and use its free tier; premium access is granted by the operator. This page explains what data is collected when you use it and how it's handled.
What we collect
- Google account info. Signing in uses Google OAuth. We receive your Google account's name, email address, and profile picture to create and identify your account.
- Chat queries. The text of messages you send is logged server-side in full, associated with your email address, the time it was sent, and which app version sent it. This log exists for the operator's own visibility and is kept even for messages sent in incognito mode — incognito controls what the AI remembers and what stays on your device, not what's logged for investigation.
- Conversation history. Chat threads are stored server-side, tied to your account, and synced across your devices — not just kept in your browser. Deleting a conversation in the app deletes it from the server too. Incognito threads are the exception: they exist only in memory for that session and are never written to a server or a device.
- Generated images. Images you ask the AI to create are saved to server-side storage tied to your account, with a thumbnail generated a few minutes later for the in-app gallery. You can delete any image yourself at any time. Images generated in an incognito session are the exception: they're automatically and permanently deleted within 5–10 minutes, with no thumbnail ever made.
- What the AI remembers about you. Outside of incognito, the assistant can choose to remember small, ongoing facts about you (for example a nickname or a stated preference) to make later conversations more useful. You can ask it to forget something at any time, and it's never used outside your own conversations.
- Token usage totals. For each account we keep running totals of the tokens it has used: chat counted in the AI model's own tokens, and image, video, music and 3D model renders counted from how long they ran on the graphics hardware. These are totals only, not a per-message record. They are used to show a free-tier account how many tokens it has left and to decline requests once its allowance is used.
- Coding-agent activity. If you connect an external coding agent (Cline or Roo Code) using a personal API key, we log basic task metadata — how many turns a task took and how long it ran — but not separately as a chat query.
What leaves khazu.net
The AI model and the image renderer are both self-hosted — your prompts, replies, and generated images are never sent to an external AI provider. Three things do leave, each only when the feature that needs it is actually in use:
- Google, for sign-in (once, at login) and for microphone audio while you're actively dictating a message. Dictation is switched off entirely in incognito and in the Brave browser, which blocks Google's speech backend anyway.
- Tavily, which receives a search query only on the specific messages where the assistant decides to search the web.
- Amazon SES, which receives the subject, body, and destination address of an email, and only when you ask the assistant to email something to you. The destination is always your own signed-in address — the feature cannot send to anyone else. A plain-text copy of anything sent this way is also kept on the server as an operator record.
Text-to-speech (having a reply read aloud) is not on this list — it runs entirely on-device in your browser and nothing is sent anywhere for it.
How Google account data is used
Neverness requests only the openid, email and profile scopes — the basic sign-in scopes. It does not request access to Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Contacts, or any other Google service, and it cannot read, modify, or delete anything in your Google account.
- What we receive: your Google account's unique ID, name, email address, and profile picture URL.
- How it is used: solely to create and identify your account, to tell whether it is on the free tier or premium, and to display your name and picture to you inside the app.
- How it is stored: in the application's own database on the operator's server, for as long as your account exists.
- How it is shared: it is not. Google account data is never sold, transferred, or disclosed to any third party.
- Not used for: advertising, profiling, credit assessment, resale, or training any AI model.
Neverness's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
How your data is protected
All traffic to and from the app is served over HTTPS. Sign-in is handled by Google OAuth, so Neverness never sees or stores a Google password. Every request is checked against your own signed-in account, and the server and its database are administered solely by the operator named below.
What we don't do
- No ads, no third-party analytics, and no tracking scripts of any kind.
- Your data is never sold or shared with third parties.
- Nothing above is used for advertising, profiling, or resale — only to run the service and for the operator's own visibility into how it's used.
Retention and deletion
Conversations, generated images, and what the AI remembers about you are retained for as long as your account is active, and you can delete any of them yourself directly in the app at any time. Two things are not deleted from inside the app: the full-text query log, which is kept as a permanent operator record, and your token usage totals, which are kept for as long as your account exists so the free tier's allowance means what it says. You can request removal of either by emailing the contact below. You can also request deletion of your account and everything tied to it at any time the same way.
Children's privacy
This service is not directed at or knowingly used by children.
