Neverness
A self-hosted AI chat app. Sign in with Google and start on the free tier.
Open Neverness →What it is
Neverness is a personal, Claude/ChatGPT-style chat interface backed by a self-hosted AI model (Ollama) rather than any commercial AI provider. It's a small project run by one person, not a commercial product.
Free tier and premium
Anyone with a Google account can sign in. A new account starts on the free tier, which comes with a fixed allowance of tokens. Chat uses tokens as the AI model counts them, and images, music and 3D models use them by how long they take to render. The tokens you have left are shown at the top of the app, and once they run out, new requests are declined.
Premium accounts have no token limit and can also make videos in EverVideos. Premium access is granted by the operator.
What it does
Chat with a self-hosted model
Send messages and get streamed responses from a model running on the operator's own hardware — nothing is routed through a third-party AI API.
Attachments
You can attach images (the app switches to a vision-capable model automatically) or text/code files as part of a message.
Conversation history
Past conversations are listed in a sidebar, stored against your account on the operator's own server, and synced across your devices so a thread started on a phone continues on a desktop. You can rename, pin or delete any of them, and deleting removes it from the server too. Incognito sessions are the exception — they are never written to a server or to your device.
Images, video, music and 3D models
You can ask the assistant to generate or edit an image, or use the EverImages, EverVideos, EverMusic and EverModel sections to render images, video, audio and 3D meshes. EverVideos is premium only. All of it runs on the operator's own graphics hardware — no external generation service is involved.
Documents and email
The assistant can turn an answer into a pdf, docx, odt, xlsx, ods or presentation file to download, or email it to you. Email goes only to the address you signed in with; there is no way to send it to anyone else.
Web search
When a question needs current information, the assistant can run a web search through Tavily. Nothing is sent to it unless that happens on a particular message.
Skills
Accounts the operator has set up for it can grant the assistant a sandboxed working directory for a specific job — for example reading a git repository it has been given and keeping notes about it. It cannot reach anything outside that directory.
Custom system prompt
You can optionally set a system prompt in Quick Settings to steer how the model responds.
How the model compares
The model answering you here is small enough to run on one machine at home. These are published figures for it beside Anthropic's Opus 4.6 Max, so the trade is visible rather than asserted. Better of the two in bold.
| Benchmark | opulence | Opus 4.6 Max |
|---|---|---|
| Coding | ||
| SWE-bench Pro — agentic coding | 61.7 | 53.4 |
| LiveCodeBench v6 — competitive coding | 90.3 | 88.8 |
| Terminal Bench 2.1 — agentic terminal work | 73.0 | 78.2 |
| Agent | ||
| CoWorkBench — long-horizon office work | 70.7 | 68.2 |
| General | ||
| IFBench — instruction following | 79.5 | 62.5 |
| GPQA Diamond — scientific reasoning | 89.2 | 91.3 |
| HLE — multidisciplinary reasoning | 30.8 | 40.0 |
| Multimodal | ||
| OSWorld-Verified — computer use | 84.3 | 72.7 |
| AndroidWorld — mobile use | 81.9 | 62.0 |
| MathVision — visual maths | 90.0 | 65.5 |
| CharXiv (RQ) — scientific chart reading | 83.7 | 66.0 |
| OmniDocBench 1.5 — document intelligence | 91.1 | 86.6 |
Published vendor figures, not measurements taken on this hardware, and every one is a benchmark rather than a day's work. Read them for the shape and not the decimals: this model holds its own on coding and instruction following, is well ahead on anything visual, and gives ground on the hardest reasoning — HLE and GPQA are where the money goes.
Why it asks for your Google account
Signing in with Google is how Neverness creates your account and keeps it yours. We receive your name, email, and profile picture from Google to create and identify your account — nothing more. Full details on what's collected and why are in the Privacy Policy.
Who runs this
Neverness is operated by Philipglo Joshua Opulencia, an individual and not a company, in the Philippines, under the khazu.net domain. Questions can be sent to opulence@khazu.net.
